Located southwest of Beacon Hills proper, Beacon Lake exists as a sort of contact zone between civilization and the wilderness. Its shores are given over to luxury homes and bungalows, but only a stone's throw to the north lies the untamed expanse of the Beacon Hills Preserve. Popular with both tourists and locals, it's a likely spot to find small shops with quaint charm, wild teenage parties on the weekends, or large family cookouts on summer holidays.

Beacon Lake is a large body of water, big enough to have a small marina with various personal watercraft moored there and a small boardwalk. The treeline grows down close around the lake's perimeter, as though the forest were walling it off, but this has been reduced by the inclusion of various luxury homes along the shoreline. On the west side of the lake, these tend to be larger, expensive homes with their own boathouses, while on the east side, closer to town, small, private bungalows are more the norm. The lake itself is kept very clean and offers a ready supply of fish for those who enjoy that hobby, and during the summer months there are several designated swimming areas where life-guards are on duty for up to eight hours a day.
